Most of us want to be happy in life. But the big question is “How to be happy?” We all know that being negative wouldn’t help and it distract the happiness that we wanted to.
As I’ve read in many articles about ways to be happy, most of the writers believe that we can pursue happiness by extracting the negative emotions and nurture the positive emotions. We know that it’s not very easy to have a positive attitude. Even I for instance, I still even see the negative perspective of life whenever things are not going the way I wanted it. But I just focused on changing my perspective in life.
About four years ago, I decided to change my outlook in life by looking more on the brighter and positive side of every situation I am into, striving to do good every day. And by doing that, it has really a big impact in my life, my personality transformed like a new born baby. And with that, I want to share the steps that helped me to the path of happiness.
1. Be Positive and Have Faith in Yourself. From the moment you wake up, start your day with a positive mindset by having a positive thoughts and action. As Ralph Marston said, “You’ve done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination. You have to think each of your setbacks as a challenge to see the brighter side of it.
2. Learn the lessons from your past. For you to make progress in life, you have to learn from your past mistakes. Extract all the lessons that you have learned and use it to move forward and don’t look back.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present.”
―Bil Keane
3. Don’t Depend on to Others for Your Happiness. Do not put your happiness in the hands of others; Always make sure that whoever comes to your life, they will just add more happiness so whenever they leave, you will remain happy.
“Don’t let your happiness depend on something you may lose”. - C.S. Lewis
4. Avoid Negative People. To have a happy life, you have to avoid the negative people in your life. I know it’s not easy but you have to make a choice. Don’t forget that being with negative people they attract negative energies. So be with positive people that will cheer you up and will uplift your spirit.
“Avoid negative people, for they are the greatest destroyers of self-confidence and self-esteem. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you.
5. Share Happiness with Others. Learn to share your positivity and happiness with your friends, family, colleagues and to other people. The very basic that I’ve learned is to always smile. Smile to every people you know and life will smile back at you.
“Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own action”. – Dalai Lama
I wrote those words it’s because I applied it in my life four years back. The most important lessons that I have learned is life is short better to be happy and make other people happy.
