Balance is always the key to a healthy living. Make sure that you keep your balance. Most of us are busy in our daily life. It’s normal because we need to earn for a living but don’t forget also that we earn to live. So, don’t be too addicted with work or with something that you tend to forget the important things in life, and that is to mold our characters as a human being. As a working mother I have many responsibilities that include taking care of my family, doing the household chores and managing my work. But I make it a point that I still have time to meet my friends and to relax.
When I was a kid I used to write like poems and if I have some ideas I always express it through writings. But I stopped my writing hobby due to the responsibilities that I had, recently I started again to write. And now, it became my routine, everyday either when I wake up in the morning or before I sleep at night time as soon as an idea came up in my mind I will immediately open my laptop and start writing. Through writing I can express my thoughts and feelings freely. When I was a kid my mother always reminded us that we have to study hard for us to be equipped in the battle called life. Since I was still a kid, I was wondering how we can go to a battle without having proper gear or armor? Then when I grew up, little by little I understand what is meant by that battle. She also added to her nostalgia that we are not rich, thus, the only treasure that she can give to us is education. After I finished my bachelor degree and had my first teaching job in Baliuag, Bulacan I am proud to say that I am able to use correctly the treasure that my mother gave me. I have been working as an Overseas Filipino Worker here in Oman since 2007, it’s my 7th year this coming February 18, 2014. My work is not that easy but not also difficult, I can say it is manageable. Being in a work for seven years, my work become routinely, I can say that I became stagnant. No personal and professional growth. When it comes to salary, I have no complained about it. In fact I am earning double compared to my previous job way back home. But what I exactly want is a job that is really suited for me. I am not saying that I am intelligent nor too smart, what I am trying to say is I want a job that is really challenging, a job that I can apply my knowledge and skills. Being the head of help desk technical team for seven years is not an easy job; it requires technical skills, managerial skills and personal skills. To be honest, managing a group of multi nationalities is very difficult; you have to consider the culture and beliefs of each person. As I have learned that expressing yourself is a very powerful tool to let the people understand you. I know that I am not good in writing and I am not expressive compared to other people. But whenever I am upset, angry and very emotional I can write. I am can express my thoughts and even the tiniest details of my emotion. Thus, I decided to challenge myself by writing every day with at least 250 words in length but it will not exceeds more than 1000 words. This exercise was introduced to me by Mr. Henry Rodriguez, my friend and a former colleague who is now migrated to CANADA. I want to continue doing it and I decided to posted here in my blog so that other people will be challenged also and they will start improving their writing skills.
